Tips and steps to make sure your Connected North Session experience is a smooth one!

Updated over a week ago

Once a date and time have been confirmed for your Session, you’ll be sent a Calendar invite with the connection details. This includes:

  • The date and time (in your local timezone) of the session

  • Confirmation of the Session Title and name of the Content Provider

  • A SIP URI dial-in link for your Cisco WebEx/Telepresence Unit

  • A Direct link to Zoom or WebEx to join the Session on a computer

Reminders are sent to school administrators and program champions on Sunday evenings of all Sessions booked at your school for the upcoming week.

Your School Lead will provide you with any teacher resources or supplemental materials. If Supplies are being shipped, you can access the tracking details through the Session record on your Upcoming Sessions list on the Connected North platform.

On the day of your session:

If your school has a Cisco WebEx/Telepresence Unit, ensure it's plugged in and turned on prior to the start time. You’ll be able to tell if the unit is registered and connected to the Internet if the name of your school appears at the top of the screen.

If possible, have the space set up for the activity (e.g: open space for yoga, and dance, or arranged tables with crafting kits), and ensure students are ready to learn!

For schools in Nunavut, the Cisco WebEx/Telepresence Unit will connect to the session automatically at the set start time. For schools in other regions, the touch screen will usually have a Green “Click to Join” button.

For Premium sessions, or if you don't see the button, use your touch panel to call the "SIP URI" provided in the meeting invite.

If you use a computer to connect, please click the Zoom or WebEx link to join a few minutes before the session start time to ensure your microphone and speakers are connected, and the Content Provider can hear and see your students!
